Rosie Jones & Friends – “The Final Shoot” – ZOO Magazine (December 2015)

It’s not hard to understand why Rosie Jones remains one of Britain’s favourite pin-ups.

Zoo Magazine marked its 610th and final issue in typically raunchy style, with a group of scantily-clad glamour models pose in bizarre graveyard scene.

The final edition also features interviews with Georgie Shore’s Vicky Pattison and Holly Hagan, as well as a feature entitled ‘Zoo’s 20 rudest-ever pictures’, including photographs of Jodie Marsh, Melissa D, Chanelle Hayes, Geena Mullins and Alice Goodwin.

The magazine, the self-appointed authority on ‘Girls, Games, Gadgets, Sports, Movies and Funny Stuff’, has in the past come under fire from feminist groups for its portrayal of women.

Zoo magazine announced in November that it was ‘suspending’ publication after years of plummeting sales. In the second half of 2014 it sold 32,449 copies a week, down by almost 88 per cent from its heyday.

The news followed the closure of its fellow lads’ mags FHM, Loaded and Nuts, which have also discontinued their print circulation in the past year.

In a statement on their website on 17 November, Zoo wrote: “Gents, we have some news. It is with regret we have to inform you of the intention to suspend publication of Zoo.”

“We’ve loved every minute of the near 12 years and 600-plus issues we’ve shared with you and would like to thank each and every one of you who’ve been there with us along the way.”
